Vulnerability Mapping Action Research

Bijoyini conducted an Action Research across 18 blocks of North 24 Parganas, focusing on identifying vulnerable children within their communities. The findings were used to escalate cases to Village Level Child Protection Committees (VLCPCs) and Block Level Child Protection Committees (BLCPCs). The primary objective of this initiative was to strengthen the implementation of the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) at the community level by ensuring timely identification, reporting, and protection of at-risk children.

A Study on Adolescent Students Understanding on Gender variance

Bijoyini TRC members conducted a research study with adolescent students from schools to understand their awareness of gender diversity and to assess changes in their attitudes, perceptions, and acceptance of gender-variant individuals following a month-long orientation drive. The findings highlight how students processed new information on gender variance, their reactions toward gender-variant individuals, and the roles they began to play in supporting and securing the rights of gender-variant people in their surroundings. This research contributes to reducing stigma and strengthening family and community support systems for gender-variant individuals.
