Indian Leadership Forum Against Trafficking (ILFAT)

We are an integral member of the Indian Leadership Forum Against Trafficking (ILFAT), a national survivor-led platform working toward a country free from all forms of human trafficking. Through this forum, survivors from across India unite around a shared vision and collective action. We actively contribute to policy formulation by highlighting ground-level challenges related to trafficking. Additionally, our members hold key leadership positions such as President and Secretary within the forum, playing a significant role in decision-making and strengthening survivor representation in the anti-trafficking movement.

Deputation & Advocacy with government stakeholders to access services

To ensure the rights of all survivors and facilitate access to entitled services, we have submitted deputations to district-level stakeholders and also have carried out advocacy with block and PRI members to reduce barriers in accessing services at the community level. These sustained advocacy efforts and deputations have significantly minimized long-standing challenges faced by survivors in accessing support and entitlements.

Simultaneously, we helped community members understand that reducing challenges and barriers requires collective action and responsibility, rather than blaming others.

Victim Compensation

Victim compensation is a fundamental rehabilitation right of survivors. Recognizing its transformative potential, we pioneered advocacy with the state legal system to strengthen and expedite the victim compensation process. As a result, more than ₹50 lakhs in compensation have been secured for our members and that plays a critical role in restoring dignity, stability, and long-term rehabilitation for survivors of human trafficking.

Formation of Bijoyini Council & mentoring process of the Council

To strengthen and streamline the mentoring process of Bijoyini, a core Council has been formed with representative leaders from each block. These council members receive focused mentoring to enhance efficiency, dynamism, and problem-solving capacity, and to enable them to co-facilitate and support other members of their respective teams effectively.
Establishment of Bijoyini Survivors’ Collective as an Organization
The Bijoyini Survivors’ Collective has been registered under the Society Registration Act and now functions independently with a distinct organizational identity. This milestone has brought a positive shift in mindset, fostering greater responsibility, ownership, and accountability among our members. The transition has also strengthened our capacity, enabling us to grow as leaders and manage initiatives more effectively.

100% ID Proof of Survivors Leaders

We have successfully accessed government-issued identity cards for ourselves through collective advocacy and representation in various forums. By raising a unified voice and engaging with relevant stakeholders, we also assist & secured this essential support for other community members to strengthen inclusion and civic participation.

Networking and collaboration with other collectives

To strengthen networks and play a meaningful role within the anti–human trafficking ecosystem, we have initiated inter-state networking with other survivor collectives and organizations. Through regular engagement and collaboration, these networks are steadily growing stronger, enabling survivors to establish themselves as a collective pressure group capable of influencing policies that directly impact their lives. In addition, we are expanding our reach by initiating networks with international organizations and collectives working globally to prevent and end human trafficking.

Leading Fellowship Program

Members of our collective are leading fellowship programs on various social issues to drive positive change within the community. These initiatives strengthen our work while enhancing the capacity, experience, and leadership skills of our members, enabling them to establish themselves as effective community leaders.
